Understanding The Process
The first step in our evaluation process is to gain a comprehensive geologic understanding of a prospect by deploying and utilizing state of the art, cutting edge technologies. We then purchase any science we might need, aggressively lease the acreage on top of these narrowly defined prospects, and then join with industry partners to develop.
Targeted Investments
Because our exploration workflow requires that our prospects pass several differing technological “tests”, and because each successive test defines our prospects more narrowly, our land department is able to more quickly and efficiently lease our target areas. Naturally, by further defining our prospects, our capital expenditure remains low, and our internal rate of return remains high.
Land Department
One of the core strengths of our company lies in the savvy and experience of our land department. We have aggressively leased and sold properties in the East Texas Basin with great success. Because of our relatively small size and focused exploration mindset, our land department is both diligent and agile in acquiring acreage in a short time frame.
Management
Bill Bramlett, Harvey Petter, and Dan Ziegler have now worked closely together for over 15 years. The principals as a group make all investment and execution decisions. The company plans to remain privately owned and operated.
